Syed Abu in Sunway Mas - never going back there again!!

I went for supper with a couple of my friends just now at Syed Abu in Sunway Mas, and we're never going back there again. The service is terrible, the food isn't good, and they tried to con us with the prices. Things listed in the menu were apparently not available; my friend wanted to try something unusual listed in their menu - roti canai nanas - and was told that they only have roti canai pisang and roti canai jagung; they didn't have the other unusual stuff like roti canai durian although it was listed.

Never mind. She changed to jagung (which was very bland). Then I ordered nasi goreng ikan masin. Not unusual, right? Surprise, surprise, out of the many types of fried rice there (more than 10 in their menu), they only had 3-4 varieties available. He tried to suggest nasi goreng USA but when I asked what it contained, he mumbled a whole lot of gibberish. He didn't know either, did he.

So I ordered nasi goreng ayam which turned out very dry. After eating, when we wanted to pay, we found a lot of prices inconsistent in his written bill. For example, in the menu, the listed price for fried rice with chicken is RM4.50 but he charged me RM5.30; the roti canai jagung came out to RM1.50 instead of RM1.40; and the roti telur bawang as RM1.60 instead of RM1.50. He made the change in the bill for roti canai jagung but for the fried rice, he argued that the chicken given was bigger so it was more expensive; they had no small chicken pieces he said. Then you should have told us, we shot back. You can't just give it to us without telling us. He finally agreed to reduce the price to RM5.00. Then for the the roti telur bawang, he said the menu price is wrong, it should be RM1.60. My friend was quite mad; she said that they had to follow the menu price, and that if they insisted on changing the prices on their whim, she can actually make a police report. It was only with reluctance that he followed the price in the menu.

I swear, we're never going back there again.
